A list of the places you can have your characters live in or visit. Along with this is a summary of the place and a link to where it started. That way you can see what catches your eye and then read up more on the ones that you are considering. When a place gets developed enough (or enough people suggest it to me) then I will add it to this list.
New London
Built directly on top of what had been London proper. It now resembles nothing of what it once does. It can be called a Supercity due to the sheer number of people living there and the size of what they call home. That's not to say that it is a safe home. There is absolutely a prejudice between "levels" in the city. The lowest areas are deemed unlivable by the government due to the runoff from the upper areas and lack of safety in anything. As you get higher and higher it only slowly gets more livable through gang affiliation and some semblance of a home. The highest areas are aristocratic government officials set out to never let anyone above them reach their level of comfort.
It always rains in New London. And when its not raining, its never sunny. It ranges from a light trickle of almost nothing to a torrential downpour enough to whisk you to your death in the ally ways. It does bring some happiness though, as it washes any potential dirt and grime off the streets into the tunnels below. Leaving a poorer person to handle it instead.

Concrete Jungle
A combination of actual jungle and being a city. Houston, Texas is not what it once was. The water has encroached on the town in a sort of moving lake. The houses have to be built on stilts or above ground in some way or else suffer flooding. The solid concrete structures do little to help get rid of the water. Businesses here rely on new technology and items to make their economy work. Younger people are better off since they can understand the newer items better and faster. Its pretty common that people are cycling out and being replaced.
The majority here is the human populace. Oftentimes having a general distrust of any anthro persons. They are a minority but still diverse in that there are reptiles, cats, and dogs that all are still sticking around. There are always jobs that they simply do better. Humans still hold all the important roles in this economy though.
Oh, and be careful of the mosquito. There may be some strong gangs here, but those bugs might just drain you dry before you ever see a gun.

Stromschnellen
Basically rebuilt Berlin. Both in the sense of its more fit for the new age and its literally rebuilt from the destruction of old Berlin. From the destruction of their old ways they had to rebuild into what we outside of the city call "an Orwellian Nightmare." Inside the city its just how it should always be. Trust the government, it keeps you safe and provides everything*
*not actually everything. Or enough. Alpha Engel is watching you.
The tech is super utilitarian, erring on deiselpunk rather than the cyberpunk found elsewhere. What else did you expect from a group that literally rebuilt everything and walled themselves from outside influence? They are super prejudiced against humans and "prey" animals seeing them as weak. Likewise they are super militaristic and its not uncommon for you to see armed soldiers walking the streets around you.

The Sunken Collective
What happens when everyone leaves the bayou for many many generations and you mutate the wildlife there? Do you really want to find out? The Sunken Collective is the term for the survivors of this place. Its hardly proper to call them residents. Every single thing in this place is out to kill you. From the massive insects to the very air. Even the water is impure no matter where you get it from. The main things you find in these settlements are Anthros from wild cats to some reptiles. Good luck finding much else though. Its a hard life of constantly going out to make new settlements and more safe places but its a life some people here choose to live. You can at least say most people chose to live here at least.
Tech is dirty and grunge. Brought with from other places and scavenged from old residents that didn't quite make it. They have safety bubbles of a sense with turrets and bug zappers. But you are better off carrying your own gun with you whenever you leave your house. Maybe a gasmask too. This is not the place you will see lit up screens and movies. Not at all.

SoCal
Like the hammer of God came down, "the Big One" earthquake finally hit California. It shattered the coast leaving islands strewn away into the water. It caused the land itself to split apart and open itself to the ocean making ravines and valleys subject to flash flood at the whim of the tides. Yet people clung on. Desperate to hold on to what little was left of their culture, its developed into a odd wasteland of old cherished tech and new exciting developments made to continue living. Strangely as far as life goes, this is the most suburban you will get in Cyden. So far anyways. Similar to the Wild West of the old world, you have to take what you can and not go against the societies that have been build following the disaster. Better bring a gun, a tool, or knowledge people need. Or at least join a group needing a new hired hand. Else you may find yourself stranded in a valley at high tide.
The amount of effort put into this setting, from almost entirely one person, is insane. I encourage people to give this one a thorough read. See how the creatures exist here. What tech you will find. Or maybe what town has the best glow-apple pie (I made that up, but I wouldn't put it past them to have it be a thing in the near future).
