I was wondering how does government work in Cyden is just basically left over fractions of leaders left over from the major countries that survived, or is it more like things are just run by those with the power and resources to keep some degree of order. Maybe like big cooperations who still has some power because they managed to obtain enough resources to get themselves established first or does some form of democracy still exist.?

While there were massive upheavals in certain areas, most of it would be similar to current day stuff. There wasn't a massive global event that people had to "survive" from. Large bombs have been dropped, but those proved to be totally harmless to society as a whole. Wars have been fought, but we have survived a lot already without anything changing on a global scale. Though as time went on some governments and/or countries have been changed or destroyed. really, only the areas around said bomb droppings would probably be super wild and uncontrollable. A true anarchists paradise (only my first assumption of said areas, of course). Government works as it does currently. Just MUCH more backstabbing. Literally and figuratively. Distopian isn't always Mad Max
