Aukmarian Union
Formed after the mass exodus into space, several ships drifted into a small, unnoticeable system, a considerable distance from Earth. The ships landed on Ceres where they began to build a civilisation. But exploration of their new homeworld revealed that they were not alone in the universe. Or at least had been. The planet was riddled with abandoned mining facilities and defense grids, seemingly left behind to rot as former alien territories had folded and collapsed. More importantly were the massive construction and production plants that had been used by this alien race to build mining workers and military drones, abandoned by still in a workable condition. The planet was quickly colonised and the new owners began to study the abandoned technology. It took several years of survival amongst the towering ruins and desolate landscape as their few scientists attempted to coerce and manipulate the technology into working. As soon as the first production plant was reactivated, the colonists were brutally brought together to form a single empire, all dissidents put to death to prevent the usurping of the new master empire. As more and more plants, mining facilities and laboratories were reactivated, the use of genemanipluation, bioenhancement and modification became more and more common.
Eventually, terraforming technology was reworked to turn the desolate and windswept planet into a fertile paradise. The astromining stations began to be constructed under huge drone workforce to being stripping nearby asteroids and meteors for materials. Shipyards were constructed and a large fleet began to take shape, as planet after planet in the Ceres system was settled and colonised through large-scale breeding programs, building the formation of the new empire.
Population: The Aukmairan Union's primary race is a new breed of hybrid. As nearly all the colonists brought to Ceres were Fox and Wolf Anthros, the years of interbreeding and genetic enhancement had combined the genes of the two to create a new superior form. Aukmairan's are tall, white anthros of around 8 to 12 feet tall in height. They boast longer tails and a taller, thinner form but with a more concentrated, denser muscle mass. two long antennae run down their backs from their temples, allowing them to sense electrical signals alongside hormonal discharges. A crest of fur runs down their backs to their tail while their limbs have increased in length. Most of the genetic have been perfected, resulting in three-chambered stomachs, masses of genetically modified bacteria to improve digestion and absorption of nutrients, reducing wastage while increasing bone strength, alveoli surface area and immunity. Each has enough bacteriawithin their bodies to be visible should they be opened for examination. They also posses a third kidney to improve osmoregulation. Despite their apparent peak physical perfection, they prefer to avoid combat leaving that to their armies of synthetic drone troopers, due to their incredibly low birth rates. Instead, Aukmarians are seen acting as commanders, ship's officers and special forces units.
As well as the new Aukmairan Race, the empire also consists of a sizeable Hyena population that is employed as a servant race. While use of Hyena's for meat, pelts and milk was not uncommon, they have subsided and now inhabit smaller planets where they have constructed puppet cites, enforced by drone armies. Overbreeding is heavily encouraged as the Aukmairans enjoy having bloodthirsty flesh and blood troops to supplement their autonomous armies, as a result, the Hyena's have large populations ranging from dense cites to semi-feral tribes. The Hyena's are looking down upon by the "racially superior" Aukmairans and rarely achieve important command roles.
Zealots of the Holy State: The Religious Militia of the Aukmarian Union, created to ensure the adherence to the strict religious laws and the destroyers of Heresy. The Zealots are religious fanatics, separate from the Aukmarian armed forces, who patrol cites and colonies, watching for blasphemous teachings, or any form of religious crimes. Traditionally, the Zealots are naked aside from a robe similar to a roman Toga, wearing red masks to hide their faces. Zealots are armed with the traditional clubs which they beat unbelievers into unconsciousness before dragging them away to be publically executed. Armed Zealots are used to guard all Holy Temples, as well as Scared Birth Centers.
Interbreeding: Due to Foxes and Wolves being the only species present in the initial colonists, the proto-Aukmarians were faced with a horrible situation. Interbreeding resulted in large numbers of maternal death and stillbirths back home on Earth, and the colony was doomed to fail, through death of fertile females and incredibly low birth-rates. So as soon as the war of unification was won, the Aukmarians managed to reverse engineer enough of the aliens abandoned technology, to partially fix the genetic problems of hybridisation. No longer would mothers die of tremendous blood loss, reducing the maternal deathrate almost to non-hybrid levels. However, Stillbirths increased as a result, with only 10% of pregnancies leading to a successful birth. This issue was solved with religious feavour. Already worshipping the long vanished aliens as gods, the ruling class of Aukmarians enforced a swift and brutal breeding programme to ensure that the new race would not die out. Ceremonies of religious mating were vigorously enforced, declared a holy duty to all fertile males and females. Female Aukmarians are made, by Union law, that they must participate in this ritual bi-monthly. Pregnancies must be carried to term under state supervision, upon the completion, all mothers may have a six month recuperation abstention, before the cycle begins anew. Aukmarian Females are only allowed to stop partaking in the ceremony, once they have had at least four children. In addition, the rarity of children means that they are highly vauled. Killing of a child, pregnancy woman or causing a miscarriage has the highest penalty of all the Aukmarian justice system. The sacred Zealots of the Holy State are allowed to beat any criminal of such degree unto submission, before preparing them for public flogging, followed by the public removal of the spleen, intestines, lungs and heart.

Aukmarian space: The empire is built around a small system, just out of range from Earth. All six planets in the system have been colonised to some degree, some only by large mining operations while other's form coreworlds that the empire is built upon.
Ceres: The "homeworld" of the new Aukmarian race. The planet was once desolate and windswept, responsible for many deaths in the early settlers. Since the rapid development of recovered alien Tech, the planet has undergone rapid terraforming that have covered it in thick jungles and formed huge waterfalls across its mountain ranges. Genetically engineered life is being seeded on the planet, overseen by Aukmarian scientists to try and construct and ecosystem, taking life from other worlds.
The Aukmarian cites are large structures that branch off mountain ranges or above the jungle canopy on large stilts. They comprise of multiple levels and are usually connected to a space elevator or port that allows for food to be transported into the city. Most of the cites are powered by hydroelectricity or solar power, their neon blue lights illuminating the area for miles around in the dead of night. The cites are built to be grandiose, with large towers and buildings, designed to be imposing and ornate, displaying the power of the ultimate race. Gardens are tended to on raised terraces whilst large awnings provide shade from the sun and wind. The largest building is always the halls of biotechnolgy and genome altering, where Aukmarians are further augmented while still in their mothers wombs. These buildings are almost religious in design, with the science and research labs at their apexes, above the heated augmentation pools where the unborn are "perfected". Genetic mutations and irregularities are destroyed as soon as they are detected, the parents compensated and a new child swiftly implanted back into the womb. The process is treated with a kind of reverence, seen as the constant perfection of the master race.
Large areas of the world are still bare and barren, endless plains devoid of life. These are where the relic rest. The mining facilitates and drone construction plants. These huge builds are alien in design and take up many square miles. They are heavily guarded and serve as marshalling grounds for the drone armies that are churned out, before the troops are allocated an off-world rally point to stage from. These plants have extensive defence and research facilities built by the Aukmarian's around them, in order to further study the alien machines and further adapt the technology to suit their needs. There are no more than seven of these facilities across the world, capable of creating an army rapidly.
Thantos: The world of "Unclean". Thantos is both arid and and windswept. The land is barely fertile, but enough for some crops leading to the occupants attempting to cultivate farms and grow corn. It is labelled the "Land of Unclean" as it is one of the worlds in which the slave population of Hyena's reside. It is heavily policed by the Aukmarian drone army who quell any dissidence from its enslaved population, maintaining a base in orbit as well as a fleet presence. The mainstay of the population is in large cites near lakes or other water sources, where food is tightly rationed but still sufficient to feed to the population. Farms fill the remaining areas, trying to grow corn on its poor soils. The main exports of Thantos to the rest of the empire are manpower. Hyenas are conscripted into either the military or off-world farms and mining stations. Conscription is random between the ages of 17-28 and lasts at least six years. Conscripts can stay on, but most return back home with families they started off world. The conscription drives are held regularly, the population being carefully monitored and even encouraged to grow, families are encouraged to have large litters which creates a bigger pool of manpower to draw upon. The other two exports are corn from the farms alongside milk. Lacking cattle, Hyena females who are pregnant with children are feed increased amounts of hormones and moved to "Milking blocks" where the maximum amount of milk to extracted to be shipped to Aukmarian worlds for daily consumption. A similar process takes place in the farmlands, with pregnant females occupying a communal block.
The miles of dead farmland and struggling crops also allow for some small resistance against the empire, though the large military presence on the planet has effectively destroyed the majority of these.
Major settlements include the Cites of Argos, Sparta and Scythia. These are massive population centers that house up to 1 Billion Hyenas combined, they are made up of large apartment blocks clustered together, alongside rows and rows of smaller flat built out of steel on concrete. It is heavily crowded and though diseases are quickly cured through Aukmarian science, contagions are still rife.
A further 2 billion live in the rural farms with large fields of corn stretching across the landscape, punctuated by gorges, forests, valleys and marshes.

Aukmarian Navy:
Strongholds:
Primus Base: Primus base is the main facility that harbours the Aukmarian naval power. It is a huge ring shaped space station, tethered in orbit by a single strand that carried four large-load orbital elevators. It can dock sixty ships of varying classes at full capacity, which is never usually reached as the navy is distributed around the system to provide an effective security screen. The base defenses consist of wide bore particle cannons that can destroy a frigate in a single lance: Eight of these are mounted on the station, with more being mounted on weapons stations and platforms around the planet. As well as the heavy cannons, it boasts electronic warfare towers, hundreds of Missile Defence Systems, a permanent fighter garrison as well as hundreds of magazines and storage units. It is also the main shipbuilding site for the fleet, harboring six construction yards to build anything from Lancer, to frigates to cruisers. It extends for several miles and houses a drone workforce in the hundred thousands. Most being refit and repair alongside large numbers of Hyena Assault Marines as well as elite ANSF contingents.
Secendus Bases: the secondary form of naval facility around the system. Six repair and defence stations, spread around the system form the main refit and supply deports for the fleet. Each can hold six vessels for serious repairs, while able to accommodate more for refuelling and resupply. Each carries two heavy particle cannons as well as a smaller point defense AA system and drone defense fleets. At one time, each may carry 600 dormant repair drone units and 200 Hyena and Aukmarian personnel, though more can be acquired to deal with more pressing concerns. Smaller stations for extraction of liquid water from meteorites and hydroponic facilities allow for some degree of self-sustenance but the Secendus Bases still heavily rely on supply runs from core worlds to keep themselves maintained.
Deathpit: A massive basin formed around the swampy remain's of a dried up river. It is one of the largest training camps on Thantos for the Hyena Marines and the most notorious.. Thousands of recruits are crammed into hot, poorly built huts and forced through the vigorous training in the desolate landscape. Drones patrol the area and an entire drone garrison is stationed nearby to dissuade the new recruits from revolting. The rest of the basin is formed into mock ships using old decommissioned vessels, assault courses and areas made up into mock battlefields. Water is tightly rationed amoung new recruits. The only way you'll get extra water supplies is a few hours after you collapse of dehydration....if you're lucky.
Ship Classes:
Frigate: The smallest vessel at 500 meters. Frigates carry out patrols and escorts, armed with a light calibre particle cannon battery and point defense system. They can be refitted with Electromagnetic torpedoes, concentrated plasma torpedoes or Anti-ship fragmentation bombs on hardpoints on the craft's short wings. Each has a organic crew of around 30 and a drone crew of 60.
Lancer: These ships are around 850 meters long, built around a single heavy particle cannon that has a barrel length of 700 meters. These ships have devastating firepower and incredibly range, but the ships themselves are unwieldy and vulnerable and are therefore deployed to the rear, sniping away at their enemies. Each has an organic crew of 25 and 120 drones to service the power plants and targeting scopes.
Cruiser: The standard heavy ship for the Aukmarian Navy. Around 2200 meters long and armed with medium particle cannon batteries, Gamma Cannons and a point defense system. Additional weapons that can be fitted included EMP mines, EMP torpedoes, Fragmentation Anti-fighter torpedoes, concentrated plasma torpedoes and Anti-Armor penetration launchers. They hold large crews of around 200 organics and 500 drone units. When engaging in combined operations, Cruisers can carry an additional 350 Hyena Marines alongside 800 dormant Assault Drones, all packed together in it's cargo bays. Cruisers can also function as transports due to their large storage bays, often used to resupply remote colonies that normal merchant ships are denied access from.
Carrier: At 3000 meters long, the carrier is the largest ship class in the fleet. It's main defence is the two flight decks it carries, each protected by armoured decking alongside heavy shielding. The Carrier serves as a moving airbase, capable of maintaining 300 drone fighter craft alongside three full squadrons of Aukmarian Kraken fighter-bombers. The fighters are stored in below deck workshops, where over 9000 drones are solely assigned to maintaining and refitting them for combat. The rest of the ship consists of armouries, magazines, a huge FCC (Flight Co-ordination Center) where the carrier's squadrons are controlled and monitored to ensure a organised progression of battle. An additional 2000 drones maintain the ship itself in its engine room, as fire systems, powerplants, in magazines and ensuring the movement of armaments and supplies through the flight decks
The navy usually operates in small patrols, consisting of around four or five frigates and no more than two Cruisers. These small patrols make regular sweeps of empire space, operating from fleet bases which allows for regular control over occupied space.
For minor rebellions, larger fleets of around six cruisers and nine frigates may be used to show the Aukmarian Navy presence. Lancers and Carriers are only used in full fleet engagements against large competent enemies or in invasion fleets.

Aukmarian Military:
Combat Drone: The combat drone is a alien design, churned out the massive drone factories located across Ceres' surface. They have been reprogrammed to follow Aukmarian commands and adjust to military tactics and the new enemies that they face. A lot is still unknown about the alien masters of the drones and many of their functions are either a mystery, or hidden away by the Imperial Authorities. The standard drone is seven feet tall and is armed with an automatic particle repeater mounted upon its right arm. The weapon is automatic and fires three bolts per second but requires a two minute cooldown if it is used for extended periods of non-stop firing. Venting fins mounted upon the weapon allow for cooling in the lull between firing. Each drone is both fast and athletic, capable of scaling sheer surfaces, movingly quickly and easily navigating difficult terrain and obstacles. They communicate through long optical antennae mounted upon their head and back, which shift position and vibrate while transmitting. They posses a very low level AI, not intelligent enough to be sapient but still self-sufficient and allowing them to react to events and enemy fire and work individually. Though usually they work in overwhelming swarms, bringing the enemy down with weight of fire before splitting into tendrils to wipe out or subdue resistance. Them can also operate in EVA conditions, making use of small booster packs to attack enemy ships and breach through vulnerable areas. The drones feel neither pain nor sympathy and are programmed to attack even through loss of limbs or major systems.
Drones are charged on rack's while not in use and can go for days on a full cell. When unable to be recharged, a Drone can intake fresh or brackish water and convert it into hydrogen fuel
Heavy Drone: designed to fill the gap that tanks and heavy weapons left. Converted from massive mining and construction drones that the aliens left behind, these massive, bulky robots carry either twin heavy railcannons or a single particle main gun in its arms, while it's shoulders can mount a variety of weapon options, from anti-fortification, anti-infantry, anti-air to anti-tank. Their armour is thick and fitted with dispersion plates that absorb excess heat or kinetic energy from impact rounds in a form of sacrificial protection.
Disorder Drone: a variant of the standard combat drone, but fitted with a shock baton and collapsible riot shield. They are found on subjugated Hyena worlds and form the overseers of the slaver race, quelling riots and preventing crimes. Their frame is resilient to blunt force weapons and petrol bombs but require Combat Drones to serve as ranged backup. Capable of being outfitted with tear-gas bladders and skin-irritant dischargers.
Hyena Marines: The Hyena marines are the main organic force used by the Imperial forces. Acting as a supplement to drone forces, they are deployed to areas where synthetic forces are having trouble adapting to an enemy or where drone tactics are neither working nor a viable option. The Hyena are drafted from Hyena slave populations from the ages of 17-28 and serve for a minimum of six years. Their training begins in remote camps where the recruits are beaten into submission and encouraged to develop rage and bloodlust. One of the most notorious being "Deathpit" on Thantos. Training includes assault courses, weapons training, practice attacks and rudimentary tactics. Drill is taught within the first day and the recruits are forced to observe it for the entirety of their four week basic training. Punishments are deliver on the spot through violence, beatings and electroshocks. The food is deliberately poor quality and most of the recruits are deliberately infected with bowel diseases and intestinal infections to develop a resistance to foreign conditions and foods as well as being deprived of sleep. Live-fire target drills quickly ensure accuracy of a decent standard while day-long exercises force the trainees to adapt to the rigours of combat. Fatalities are uncommon, but not unusual either as heavy beatings can kill restricts alongside deaths from suicide, exposure and weapons fire.
Once basic training is complete, the Marines are sent to military encampment on border worlds where they conduct more training exercises while on constant readiness to be deployed to fight pirates or insurrectionists. Troops are separated by gender, through fraternisation is not illegal. Once dismissed from service, Hyena's often marry former squad mates.
Marine kit includes: -Uniform: Black overalls and dungarees. Camouflaged versions may be issued, depending on the conditions and proximity to resupply. -Flak Jacket: reinforced vest made up of kevlar, affords protection against most munitions but can disintegrate after repeated impacts. -Helmet and visor: Black, steel and polymer helmet. Camouflaged covers can be applied. Visor applies protection from dust, fragments and bright lights. -Pack: All Marines carry a single Black pack, able to store spare power cells, food supplies and parts. Spare clothes are not issued to Marines while in combat. They are trained to wear the same clothes for extended periods of time without changing or refit. As a result, their poor hygiene is notorious
-Boarding sword: a short close combat weapon that is small enough to be used in the close confines of ship corridors but long enough to keep the enemy at bay. Standard issue to all Marines. -HR3: Dubbed "The AK of space", the HR3 is a select-fire magnetic-rail rifle, capable of single-shot and fully automatic fire and is standard issue to Hyena Marines. It carries 38 rounds in its curved magazines and carries the "Baton-Launcher" a single shot railweapon that shoots a large solid slug at high speeds, mounted under the barrel. -HSW: Dubbed the "The RPK of space" The HSW is an automatic railweapon that fires either from belts or box magazines. It is capable of taking HR3 magazines in an emergency and has a longer range and bipod allowing for stable fire. Usually each squad will have a support gunner with other riflemen carrying spare belts. -HMAR: The Hyena Marine Assault Rocket is a heavy weapon that fires an explosive charge in the form of a shaped rocket cone. The weapon is muzzle loaded but has a lieghtweight frame, allowing a single Hyena to carry it and several warheads relatively easily.

Oceaunus: A huge planetoid the size of earth, Oceaunus has a breathable oxygen-rich atmosphere and vast amounts of surface water. Indeed, all of the landmass is submerged by the massive warm seas. The oceans cool near the poles, allowing for the formation of small ice shelves, though not as large as the ones that Earth once boasted. In its natural state, it is lifeless. However, to supply the empire with the Fish-based diet that the Aukmarians have come to rely on, the world has been artificially seeded with hundreds millions of tonnes of algae and plankton to ensure the perfect "soup of life" into which the anthropod and fish from Ceres have been planted to create a "super-ecosystem" that is self-supportive but able to he heavily fished too feed the Union's empire.
Fishing Process: The world is dotted with large stations, either floating or mounted onto the submerged continental shelf. These stations boast orbital tethers to space stations to allow for the collection of their catch. The fish are collected, either from station mounted nets, or from a vast fleet of trawlers and barges that head out onto the wide featureless expanse. Each station is roughly three times the size of an old earth oil rig and comprises freezing facilities, huge gutting factories and resident populations of Hyena workers. Around twenty million Hyenas are employed upon the planet, pulled from Thantos to spend several years on the wet, rainswept world.
Upthrope Station: A massive Aukmairan-run research facility that monitors the fish stocks and environment of the world. The scientific community there adapts the sea-life, adding to the stocks or mixing cures to viruses into the populations. It is vital to ensure that the food output remains constant and healthy, while the world remains stable and producing.
Stock: The stock on Oceaunus is all orginally native to Ceres. These creatures still have populations on their home planet, but these are now treated as a form of nature reserve. Cortgunt: A massive predatory arthropod, around 2-3 meters long, resembling the Sea Scorpions of prehistoric earth. Armed with massive pincers, they hunt in both the open ocean and on the seabed. Gashtex: Another crustacean, measuring around 6-9 meters long. These are filter feeders and live off the ocean floor, sucking up small creatures in the silt or filtering them out the water. Krilleth: Small crustaceans that feed off algae and plankton, 4-17 inches in size. These are numerous, forming huge swarms throughout the oceans and are preyed upon by many predators.
Blue Bream: Primitive fish, 6-19 inches in length. They too are filter feeders, living off the rich alage and plankton. Their name comes from their sky blue coloration, striped with dark patterns. Ghostfish: Named due to their paleness, these fish grown from 10-25 inches in size and also live in large shoals. They are ommnuovres, living off both plankton and smaller prey. Blackdarts: The closest lifeform to the earth shark. 2 meters long, with a basic form of teeth and one of the few working jaws. They prey off other fish, following their shoals across the planet.

Agrippa:
One of the principle harvesting worlds for the Aukmarians, Agrippa is a rocky, mineral rich planet at the fringes of the Ceres System. Its gravity being slightly lower than that of Earth’s. The planet itself appears red and pink from orbit and is covered in large deposits of both Iron, and rare Earth metals, both in immense surface deposits and in the form of large sulphuric vents. Surface water is present across the planet, though many Aukmarians find the taste unappealing due to the high iron content, and in areas near to sulphur vents, may be contaminated by the dust. The air is breathable, though heavy contamination of the air through gases and rock dust leads to workers constricting crude masks and suits to avoid some of the more harmful effects.
Population: The principle occupation of those living on Agrippa is mining. Large numbers of Hyena workers are exported off world onto the planet, to live in vast warehouses converted into communal living quarters. At least thirty of these massive settlements are spread out across the planet, containing at least four million Hyena slaves, each one centred around a mineral resource. Tents and wooden houses fill the interiors of these immense halls, conditions poor across the mining workers and their inevitable families. Food is low quality nutrient sludge, processed from the nearby Oceanus, while the water is heavily tainted in iron and sulphur. Crime is rife amongst the population, though law and order is passed through a large garrison of Disorder Drones as well as “Protection forces” loose groups of militiamen who are used to bring some level of order to the more crime ridden areas. These are armed with captured, low calibre enemy weaponry, typically chem-pistols or CSS firearms.
Industry: Mining of ores and sulphur content makes up almost the entirety of the economy within Agrippa, bar the service industries that supplant the workers. The ore is mined by hand, though through use of picks and rockdrills, before being carried by hand onto container trucks and hauled away for processing. This process is deliberately labour intensive to keep the Hyena workers oppressed, preventing them from growing lax. Working days are eleven hours long, either in the hot open, ore veins or shrouded in the thick dust and smoke of the sulphur vents. Conditions can be dangerous, due to risks from rock slides and the skin sores and irritation that sulphur provides.
A typical work day would consist of a worker putting on his crude protective gear and stocking up on food and water for the day. He would then join the march out of the living quarters, to the ore veins themselves, sometimes up to four miles away. From there, he will spend around nine to ten hours cutting ore and
The iron is then transported to the smelting plants, where it is then refined and smelted into solid iron or steel bars and loaded into cargo crates before shipped up to orbiting cargo ships through shuttles and orbital tethers, then transported off planet. Pollution around the smelters is worse any of the other industrial areas, making it the least desirable of the jobs in hand.
Aukmarians: The population of Aukmairans is much smaller consisting of mining control staff and overseers. The majority of this ruling class live in gated settlements, at least sixteen to twentymiles away from the factories and mining centers. These settlements are located in areas of natural beauty, such as interesting geological formations or some of the immense canyons that run through the planet's surface. Each settlement has its own community and supply system, giving the Aukmarians a much better quality of living than their oppressed workers. In addition, all settlements have a guard of drones and Aukmarian troops in case of attack by either pirates or rebellious Hyenas.
