This community is taking a turn in ways I don't like. So I'm jumping ship. Been apart of too many places that fell apart, rather not be apart of this one. I liked the content. And it was fun writing with you all. But closed mindedness can't and will never be tolerated by me. So I simply can not continue here. Feel free to build off of what I've left. This is my last post most likely.

This place is just starting out, and we're already losing people. This sucks because his stuff was cool.
WTF could have happened to have scared away someone this early?

We said we where not going to have a channel for one little tiny thing, a topic that typically brings out the worst of people, in the discord. For our troubles we got accused of stifling an important part of the community, denying the freedom of speech, and being close minded.
Apparently we're not allow to have any taboos else we are censoring and limiting the rights of others. And the rules as little as they are were to restrictive.
We here at Project Cyden are a community of role-players, world builders, writers, and artists. We are here cause we like cyber punk and fluffy animals. SeaJay seems to have forgotten that and confused us for a place to air our IRL concerns. We can be here for that, a shoulder to cry on, an ear to vent too, a sympathetic soul, etc; but the world of Cyden and building the community are the main goals. The rest are secondary concerns.
TL:DR - He quit cause we, the mods, said no to an off topic (aka not related to Cyden) and generally against the rules subject.

Some people have the reason why I'm leaving wrong, Chez hits it on the head better than anything. It's not that I want said channel or anything like that. It's that the idea was mentioned that even any comment relating to politics in passing should be against the rules. But whether we should have a channel for that or not is beside the point. It's not about that... it's about when I a member of the community was calmly talking with someone else in off topic on whether or not we should have one, or if banning such a topic is good for the community out of nowhere I was told to just stop talking, because of mod and being a lowly member I guess I shouldn't discuss things with mods. And I've been here since well, the beginning, and it's sad to see that ideas simply don't matter. There was no talking, no discussion. Nothing devolved. There was no flame war or anything disruptive to anyone. And despite there being no problems I was threatened to be banned for well, doing nothing but suggesting a certain rule which wasn't even made a rule yet, shouldn't be made a rule. And that's behavior I don't plan to continue to be apart of. That's the close mindedness I speak of.
I simply do not like the idea that if say I'm idly talking with another member about perhaps the political commentary the story Iet might contain; I could get in trouble for mentioning politics, and because of situations like that, we shouldn't make rules to make such a thing a taboo or outlawed topic. I didn't think that was much to ask, but instead of someone telling me a counterpoint or even saying "That makes sense, but I'm gonna do what I think is best anyways." I was instead told to just be quiet.
Free speech is important. It's maybe the most important thing, in quite a few countries the things we have enjoyed writing about here can't be written about. Many people don't enjoy our luxury of getting to write on this forum. So I can't really sit idly by as I'm told to be quiet.
I don't want a politics Tab in the discord either. It would take away from the focus, but I certainly won't sit around and be told that I cannot say things.

It would take away from the focus, but I certainly won't sit around and be told that I cannot say things. I may have over reacted a little, and Eight also overreacted. I know why I over reacted, because I was just rather shaken by what had happened in another discord when we actually got a politics Channel. I think eight just got a bit heavy handed due to how politics is handled in Zaezar's stream. Zaezar cleared things up a bit after you left, and I wished you would have been there to read it. The main Concern is with politics regressing into hate speech, and since we already have rules about hate speech, there's no real need to completely censor political topics, just, as I later said, to try and keep them related to the World Building of Cyden So we aren't talking politics just to talk politics. So the rule I suggested didn't even go through. Politics are okay so long as you're not trying to bait people into hate speech (e.g. concern trolling) or devolving into hate speech yourself. I hadn't intended to punish you in anyway with administrative access, just to get you to understand why I felt the way I did, just like how you're letting us understand how you feel. I agree, freedom is great. But freedom also includes freedom to turn into hate spewing monsters when our boundaries are pushed, and that wasn't something I wanted to see people I consider my friends to get into. (And I'll have you know I consider you my friend as well) I wish you'd stay (especially because want to see Kyet and Michigan finished), but I understand completely if you wish to leave Cyden behind. Like I said, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. But that's the issue. You're mods. You don't get to overreact. If you're going to have power to kick us out of the community than you have to be responsible. It doesn't explain why when I bring up that such a rule would be unfair I'm threatened and told to stop talking or I'll be banned. I've never been in one of Zaezar's steams and now suddenly I'm subject to their rules? It doesn't seem right. However since you don't seem to be antagonistic I'll come back Chez.

All I have to add to this is. If you feel I exceeded my authority, take it up with God and Zaezar. God takes all prayers. Zaezar is my boss, owner of the discord and forums, and general director of Project Cyden.
Take it up with him as he ultimately has the final say on the rules of the discord and forum.
Seriously though, take the time and have a chat with Zaezar. Specially on the topic and any other areas you have strong feelings about, so we don't have another of these misunderstandings.
Guess I should explain myself. As a general rule I know that Zaezar likes to keep real world politics out. As I also pointed out the Project Cyden discord and forums isn't exactly the place to air your political beliefs or opinions.
You were breaking rule three by quite a wider than average margin. Rule two came into application when you didn't want to time out and step back to think it over. And likely rule one. The language didn't get bad enough to break rule four at least.
You can believe me or not, but i was trying to deesculate the whole situation without under cutting Chez in front of you. I wanted both Chez and you in time out till you had time to cool your heads. This place is for calm peaceful discussions of a dystopian cyber punk future know as Project Cyden. Not for heated arguments where you go for the throat.
