Blue Phoenix Blue Phoenix Class System Survey Ship. Length: 1,000 meters Habit Ring Diameter: 562.5 meters Crew: 10,000 Life Support: Normal sustainable Hydroponics Capacity of 15,000. Maximum sustainable hydroponics capacity of 30,000. Drives: Twin Fusion Torches Armament: 4 twin 500cm ADS Gauss Turrets, 24 Micrometeorite defense lasers. Cargo: 12,880,000 cubic meters in 28 cargo bays. Industrial: 1,840,000 cubic meters in 4 industrial blocks. Other: 156,500 square meters of park land, 3,000,000 square meters of hydroponics, 3,326,000 square meters of living and working space. The Blue Phoenix is the largest ship of its kind in the interstellar survey corps. More a mobile space station than the ship, the Blue Phoenix is well suited for its century long missions surveying a star system. With a normal hydroponic capacity for 15,000 and a normal crew of 10,000 the Blue Phoenix has ample leeway for crew expansion during its long missions before requiring the use of its on board industrial units to increase life support capacity. The Blue Phoenix is equipped with four massive industrial blocks capable of producing a variety of survey craft from on board and local resources. The oversized cargo volume contains enough resources for major repairs or refitting of the ship without needing to tap local resources. The standard complement of support craft includes shuttles, repair tenders, as well as mining vessels.

So we know the information about this ship. Size, crew count, what its for. Awesome. Now what are some of the details on the crew? What is the daily life like for them? What is their opinion on visitors and/or merchants who are trying to make some money while this thing is on its mission? I bit of info for if people want to visit would be awesome.
Though this board is more for sharing artwork about places rather than breaking it down entirely with all the details. Excuse me if I am pushing for more info a bit much '^^

The Blue Phoenix spends most of its time at the fridges of explored space. Typically only traveling through inhabited systems at the beginning and ends of its missions. As for the daily life for its crew? Would depend on the specialty of the person though most can keep normal 8 to 10 hour work shifts. Those out and about in the small crafts flying about to get closer looks at planets and asteroids would over course need to work longer shifts of up to 12-16 hours. Things are no where near crowded on the ship each person has 3500 square feet space to use for home and office. How much of it is office space though would once again vary with department though typically the each crew keeps at least 1500 square feet for person living.
There are no rules about fraternizing on the ship. Short of crewing the ship with eunuchs, 100 years between ports of in space is enough to drive even the most sane person to mutiny without some relief. Outside that most primal of reliefs, there are many ways to relax on the ship. The huge park with its large river is always a nice place to be, except for a few days after maneuvers do to extreme flooding of the aft shore. There is a fully stock gym provided by the command staff, police department, and industrial workers that every one is encourage to spend at least a little time in during there off days. Medical and Hydroponics has constructed a large water park and swimming pool facility. The pilots and navigators have managed to wedge in a complete gaming room with both physical and virtual gaming. The education department generously donated to provide the crew with an arts and learning center. Provided by like minded fellows are several dance clubs, bars, pubs, and a complete opera house.
The Blue Phoenix is typically only inside known space for 20 years at a time as it accelerates slowly through the systems. During this time the ship lives up to its traveling station reputation though the limited docking and hanger space typically means they limit traffic to just government ships, commercial cargo craft, and station to station shuttles. All this travel and trade is mostly gear toward allowing the crew to meet some unfamiliar faces.
