Here I shall be posting excerpts from a book parodying the works of those like Alexis de Tocqueville, Mark Twain, Max Brooks and Studs Terkel.
It's goal will be to go in depth and discover what is happening in and around "The Great Lake!"
What would happen if Michigan Culture did steroids and marijuana at the same time and then hid under a lake and refused to talk to other people?
What if Michiganders believed their customs to be superior (Lol, get it?) to all others?
Questions like, Who lives here? What do the people do? How did this place come to be? How the fuck do you pronounce Ypsilanti or Milan?
That and more answered here!
So feel free to ask your own questions and get them answered in short oral stories! The more questions asked the more inspiration for stories from the area. Which means more content!
So here it is, Our first "In world" book title.
A Contemporary Criticism of The Great Lake, Her People, Tribes, Customs and Society. As well as an Oral History of the Region as Told by Her Peoples.
Written by K. Semandi.
So here it is... an Introduction from the author herself!
This work is the endeavor of months of traveling, interviews, and personal toil. During my travels to the Cumberland I was fascinated by the talk of a people who after the first bombs fell hid. They used the only resource they had, water, and hid under it. They were rumored to have built large domes to hide their homes in. The people would tell odd tales of such a place. And The Great Lakes people were the butt of many jokes. But I was intrigued. I had never heard of such a society. I certainly had no idea such expanses of people were living in isolation from the rest of the world. What was their tech like? Or their customs? Did the Aether reach them to? As a weapons representative my career had taken me to many places and learning cultures had been a hobby of mine through my journeys. So, I pooled what resources and free time to looking up what I could about its peoples. And I found next to nothing. I got in contact with a business man from Landsing. He began this journey. I convinced him to let me in on a traveling and business permit so that I may set up new weapons contracts and orders... Though I really didn't care if I got a single buyer. I just wanted to see this new part (Or perhaps old) of the world. What laid beneath the cold blue waters of the Lake? I loaded up a private plane with dealer sample Mac Revolvers and flew on in to the island of Landsing. I bought a cheap recorder from the Airport and was ready to meet this new culture. I hope you enjoy this work of mine, at that you find as interesting the mannerisms and Atlantian-esk culture of a people who are so isolated from the rest of the people on our rock.
